李肇星出席第二十三届“韩素音青年翻译奖”颁奖典礼

2011年10月29日，北京，第二十三届“韩素音青年翻译奖”颁奖仪式在对外经济贸易大学举行。原外交部部长、中国翻译协会会长李肇星，原对外经济贸易部副部长沈觉人出席了颁奖典礼并致辞。

韩素音青年翻译奖是中国翻译界最高奖项，每年举办一次，致力于强化青年人翻译功底，提高青年人的翻译水平和促进国内外文化交流。本届大赛首次以经贸为题材，对译者时事洞察及翻译能力提出了更高挑战。此次翻译竞赛共收到译文2058篇。其中英译汉有效译文1348篇，经过三轮评审，评出获奖译文71篇；汉译英有效译文710篇，评出获奖译文51篇。

韩素音女士是英籍华人女作家伊丽莎白·柯默（Elisabeth Comber）的笔名，原名周光湖（Rosalie Elisabeth Kuanghu Chow）。她的主要作品取材于20世纪中国生活和历史。1989年韩素音女士访华，提供了一笔赞助基金，以此设立了“韩素音青年翻译奖”。

至今，“韩素音青年翻译奖”成功举办了23届，是目前中国翻译界组织时间最长、规模最大、影响最广的翻译大赛，受到全国乃至海外青年翻译爱好者的欢迎和认可。
