A university tour of Peking Opera debuted at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing on Thursday.
To introduce the artistic form and essence of Peking Opera, different characters came on the stage successively, covering all four main role categories: sheng (male role), dan (female role), jing (painted-face male role) and chou (clown).
Chinese and international students from the university were invited to perform alongside the professionals and enjoy the musical beauty of this traditional Chinese art.
The tour will visit many other universities and colleges in the future, presenting Peking Opera to more teachers and students.
